Muhammad Faizan Qasim

Biography

Muhammad Faizan Qasim is a legal professional whose academic and professional journey spans the United Kingdom and Pakistan. With an LLB from Lancaster University, legal training at City St George's, University of London, and experience across public sector service and private legal practice, he brings an international perspective to legal education and the academic and professional pathways available to aspiring lawyers.

At Counselion, Faizan contributes to educational advisory for students considering undergraduate and postgraduate studies in law and related disciplines. His approach centres on helping students understand the breadth of legal education, evaluate university and programme options, and develop applications that communicate their academic interests, motivations, and future aspirations. Drawing on his own experience of studying law in the UK and working across different legal environments, he offers practical context for students navigating international education systems and considering how their academic choices may shape their professional direction.

His professional background encompasses commercial and corporate law, regulatory compliance, data protection, technology contracts, mergers and acquisitions, and cross border legal matters. These areas provide a valuable foundation for engaging with the changing landscape of legal education, particularly as law increasingly intersects with technology, digital identity, privacy, business, and public policy.

Faizan currently serves as a Legal Officer with the Government of Pakistan. His previous appointments include legal practice at Bukhari Chambers in the United Kingdom and legal organizations in Pakistan. He has also served as a postgraduate student ambassador at City St George's, University of London, and as a student adviser at its Community Legal Advice Centre, experiences that complement his understanding of higher education and student engagement.

As an Advisor on Counselion's Global Advisory Board, Faizan contributes legal sector insight and an international outlook to the firm's educational advisory work. His perspective supports Counselion's commitment to helping students make informed academic decisions, develop a clear sense of direction, and pursue educational opportunities aligned with their interests and ambitions.
